That is worth knowing before a line fails on its own schedule.
On permits: Hooking a Greenwich Township property into the sewer means paying two towns: the connection fee equals whatever Phillipsburg's ordinance (Chapter 485-11) sets, and it is split half to Greenwich Township and half paid directly to the Town of Phillipsburg - no certificate of occupancy until both halves are proven paid. New construction on a street with a sewer main must connect within 30 days of the sewer becoming available.. We pull them and handle the inspections.
The plant on the receiving end, the Phillipsburg STP, is permitted for 3.5 million gallons a day and serves five towns under contract: Phillipsburg, Alpha, Greenwich, Lopatcong and Pohatcong. So Greenwich sewer work ultimately depends on capacity Greenwich holds in a plant it does not own.
