Fiber Optic & Underground Telecom Construction
Underground and aerial fiber, conduit, and telecom line construction for providers and property owners.
New Jersey's excavation rules define excavation to include drilling, grading and boring, so directional drilling a fiber path is mechanized excavation and carries the same One-Call obligation as open trench: notice not less than three business days and not more than 10 before work begins. Once facilities are marked, mechanized equipment may not operate within two feet horizontally of the outside wall of a marked line until it has been exposed by hand, which is why an existing utility in the path forces a pothole or an open cut rather than a blind bore. JWSR has placed more than 470,000 linear feet of conduit to date across NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, VA and WV.

Fiber and telecom construction is the heart of what we do. JWSR installs underground conduit, direct-bury cable, and aerial telecom lines for internet providers, municipalities, and property owners. We have placed over 470,000 feet of fiber conduit and counting, connecting thousands of homes, with crews on active builds today. Whether it's a single service drop to a rural property or a full neighborhood build, we place line fast, clean, and to spec.
Building out a fiber network?
We place fiber for internet providers across New Jersey: production plowing, directional boring, trenching, conduit, service drops, and 24/7 strike response, with over 470,000 feet of conduit placed on recent projects alone. We built a page just for providers and telecom GCs.
How we do it
Production fiber work is a rhythm: markouts ahead of the machines, the plow or bore crew placing conduit at spec depth, and the restoration crew closing behind so no address sits torn up overnight. That rhythm is how you place hundreds of thousands of feet in a season without leaving angry homeowners behind.
Drops get the same care at house scale: bored under driveways instead of cut, lawns sliced and pressed back instead of trenched open, and the demarc left clean for the splicers. The network gets built, and the neighborhood barely notices.

Fiber & Telecom: what people ask us
Do you work directly with internet providers?
Yes. Regional and national providers use crews like ours to build their networks: plowing, boring, trenching, conduit, strand and lash, and service drops. We hold active contracts in seven states.
Will installing fiber wreck my lawn?
No. A vibratory plow slices the line in with minimal disturbance, and yards typically knit back within a few weeks. Customers regularly tell us they cannot find where we dug.
Can you run the drop from the street to my house?
Yes. Curb-to-home drops are everyday work for us, including boring under driveways and walkways so nothing gets cut.
Fiber & Telecom: the questions behind the job
A fiber build in Hamburg, NJ: 18,000 feet of conduit and 220 homes
18,000 feet of conduit, 55,000 feet of fiber pulled through it, and 220-plus drops buried to the side of the house. Why the fiber footage is three times the conduit, what handholes are for, and why on a build this size the restoration is the job.
What Good Underground Utility Work Actually Looks Like
Most of our work gets buried, and nobody ever sees it again. Here is what separates utility work that lasts fifty years from work that fails in five.

Fiber & Telecom: in our customers’ words
“James came to our home in Chester NJ to install fiber from the curb to the house for Brightspeed. The work was done flawlessly and the results of the digging were not visible. They explained every step. Very professional and personable.”
“From start to finish, JWSR exceeded all my expectations. They completed the work on time and within budget, and left everything spotless. Highly recommend for any excavation, fiber installation, or heavy-duty projects! 10/10 service!”
“James and his crew came out to dig trenches for fiber optic lines. Very professional and caused zero headache. After two weeks the grass had fully grown back and you can hardly tell where they dug.”
