An HOA sewer repair called in by a plumber: ten feet of line wrecked by roots at four and a half feet deep, dug and held open while he worked, then backfilled, compacted, seeded and hayed.
A fiber build in Hamburg, NJ: 18,000 feet of conduit and 220 homes
18,000 feet of conduit with handhole access points, 55,000 feet of fiber pulled through it, and 220-plus homes connected with a drop buried to the side of the house. Our own town.
A 500 foot water line in Andover, NJ: five months of leaking, and what we found
A 500 foot water service that had been leaking for five months. Four feet down we found poly spliced into a copper line, cracked underneath because it was never bedded in sand. The spot repair was $4,750 and the full replacement $17,400.
Why we couldn't bore this driveway and had to open trench it
A water service in an HOA, sharing a trench with four working lines. Rerouted, missiled under the house without opening the bathroom floor, then five bore attempts into a shale ledge before the driveway got excavated.
Emergency water line replacement at Shakey Jakes Cafe, Stanhope NJ
Shakey Jakes Cafe was facing a mid-winter closure over a leaking water service. We replaced 150 feet of it, bored 33 feet under the parking lot instead of opening the asphalt, and upsized to a 1-inch line so a dinner rush does not run them out of pressure.
